My Mother-in-Law Ripped My Wedding Dress, But She Forgot About the Hidden Cameras
Previously: Minutes before walking down the aisle, Emily's mother-in-law tore her wedding gown to shreds. But a hidden security camera caught every second, exposing a dark family secret.
The Hidden Identity
Margaret’s face drained of color as the footage replayed on the screen. For a moment, she was cornered, but her desperation quickly turned into a venomous rage. Instead of backing down, she sneered and pulled a manila folder from her designer purse, tossing it onto the marble island.
"You think you've won, Emily?" Margaret hissed, turning to David. "You think this girl is an innocent victim? Ask her about her father. Ask her who she really is!"

David looked from the papers to me, confusion clouding his eyes. "Emily, what is she talking about?"
I felt a cold dread pool in my stomach. The secret I had kept hidden for three years was staring back at me from the folder. My father was Arthur Vance, the federal prosecutor who had sent David’s father to prison a decade ago. It was a corporate scandal that had ruined David’s family's reputation, and though my father was just doing his job, Margaret had vowed eternal vengeance against anyone with our name. I had changed my last name to my mother's maiden name to escape the shadow of that trial and live a normal life.
"My father is Arthur Vance, David," I whispered, the tears fresh on my cheeks. "But I cut ties with him years ago. I didn't want my past to ruin our future. I loved you for who you are, not your family's name."
David stepped back, his face a mask of deep betrayal. "You lied to me from the very beginning? Our entire relationship is built on a lie?"
"It wasn't a lie!" I pleaded, reaching out to him, but he pulled away. Margaret smirked, sensing her victory. "She targeted you, David. She wanted to finish what her father started. She wanted to destroy us."
”She wanted to finish what her father started. She wanted to destroy us."
