Previously: Rachel and Justin's beautiful forest wedding takes a dark turn when his estranged mother delivers a black casket to the altar, revealing a secret that threatens to destroy their future.

The Dark Secret Unveiled

Our hysterical laughter evaporated instantly as the crowd fell into a dead, terrified silence. From the shadow of the towering pine trees, a figure stepped forward. It was Eleanor Vance, Justin’s formidable mother, dressed in a stunning black designer gown. She looked as though she had prepared for a funeral rather than her son’s wedding. Her heels clicked sharply against the wooden aisle as she approached us, a cold, triumphant smile playing on her lips.

"Since you decided to bury your family name and your inheritance for this girl, Justin, I thought it only fitting to bring the appropriate decor," Eleanor announced, her voice echoing coldly through the clearing.

Justin stepped in front of me, his hands clenching into fists. "Get out of here, Mother," he demanded, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and disbelief. But Eleanor ignored him, reaching into her designer bag to retrieve a heavy brass key. She stepped up to the polished black casket and turned the lock with a sharp, metallic click. As she threw the lid open, the guests gasped in horror.

Inside the casket lay no body, but rather a collection of baby clothes, a small plush teddy bear, and a thick medical folder. Resting right on top of the pile was a positive pregnancy test. Before I could process the sight, a heartbroken sob rang out from the back of the crowd. The guests parted to reveal Chloe, the wealthy heiress Eleanor had always wanted Justin to marry. Chloe walked forward, tears streaming down her face, clutching a loose-fitting dress over her stomach.

"Justin, please," Chloe wept. "You can't do this to our baby. You can't just abandon us for her."

My world shattered. I looked at Justin, expecting him to deny it, but his face was completely pale, his eyes wide with shock. He stared at the baby clothes, unable to speak. The beautiful bouquet slipped from my hands, scattering white petals onto the dirt as the realization of an ultimate betrayal washed over me.
