Previously: After her husband cruelly evicts her, pregnant Emily is left starving on the streets. When a kind stranger buys her a meal, a chain of events unfolds that changes her life forever.

An Unexpected Confrontation

John walked out of the restaurant and quietly pulled up a metal chair opposite Emily. He introduced himself, his voice calm and steady. Sensing the genuine kindness in his eyes, Emily found herself pouring her heart out. She explained how her husband, David, had suddenly thrown her out of their home the moment she fell pregnant, falsely claiming the baby wasn't his to avoid any financial responsibility. She had no family, no money, and no legal help.

As John listened, his face hardened, his jaw clenching with quiet anger. But before he could offer any words of comfort, a sleek sports car screeched to a halt right by the curb. The door swung open, and David stepped out, dressed in an expensive designer suit. Clinging to his arm was a young woman who looked at Emily with obvious disdain.

David marched over to the patio, a cruel, mocking smirk plastered across his face.

"Well, look at you," David sneered, looking down at Emily's dusty hoodie. "Living like a street dog. I told you that baby would bring you nothing but ruin. I hope you're enjoying your scraps."

Emily shrank back in her chair, holding her belly protectively. "David, please, just leave me alone," she sobbed.

"Oh, I'll leave you alone," David laughed. "Just as soon as my lawyers finalize the paperwork. You won't get a single penny from me. If you even try to sue for child support, I’ll tell the judge you're a homeless addict. You have no power here."

John stood up slowly, his tall frame instantly commanding respect. He stepped between David and Emily, his eyes cold as ice.

"I suggest you watch your mouth," John warned, his voice low and dangerous.

David laughed, amused. "And who are you? A broke loser buying her cheap burgers? You can't save her."

Without saying a word, John reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek, gold-embossed business card, tossing it onto the metal table.

"Take a look at that card, David," John said quietly.

David frowned, picking up the card. As his eyes scanned the name, the smug smirk vanished from his face. His skin turned a sickly pale shade, and his hands began to shake violently.
