I Saved a Drowning Wolf From the Ice, and His Pack Followed Me Home
Previously: When Jack pulled a freezing wolf from an icy grave, he thought he was just doing the right thing. He never expected the pack to return the favor when his life depended on it.
Uninvited Guests
Jack dragged himself back to his cabin, his boots heavy with ice and his body shivering violently. He immediately stoked the fireplace, trying to bring warmth back to his frozen limbs. He fell into a deep, exhausted sleep, still haunted by the piercing eyes of the wild pack. He thought the danger had passed, but the real threat was not wearing fur.
The next morning, the harsh roar of snowmobiles shattered the wilderness silence. Before Jack could even reach for his coat, his cabin door was kicked open. In walked Marcus, a ruthless local developer who had been trying to buy Jack’s valuable family land for pennies. Behind him stood two burly men with cold, menacing eyes.

"You've ignored my calls long enough, Jack," Marcus sneered, throwing a contract onto the wooden table. "Sign the deed today, or you won't survive this winter. Nobody will ever find your body out here."
Jack stood his ground, refusing to be intimidated. But Marcus nodded to his thugs. One of them grabbed Jack from behind, pinning his arms, while the other stepped forward with a heavy iron tire iron. Jack struggled, but his body was still weak from the previous day's ordeal. He was trapped in his own home, facing men who had no regard for human life.
Just as Marcus raised the iron bar to strike, the temperature in the room seemed to drop. A low, vibrating growl echoed from the front porch, shaking the windowpanes. Shadows began to pass by the frosted windows—not one, but several. Marcus froze, his hand trembling as the sound of scratching claws filled the air. The pack had followed Jack home, and they were ready to defend the man who had saved their brother.
