I Saved a Drowning Wolf From the Ice, and His Pack Followed Me Home
Previously: When Jack pulled a freezing wolf from an icy grave, he thought he was just doing the right thing. He never expected the pack to return the favor when his life depended on it.
The Guardians of the Forest
The thugs panicked, dropping their weapons as the heavy wooden door began to splinter under the weight of a massive force. Through the window, the terrifying sight of a dozen wolves surrounding the cabin became clear. Leading them was the very wolf Jack had rescued, its fur dry and its eyes locked onto Marcus with fierce intensity. The predators bared their teeth, letting out a chorus of snarls that echoed like thunder in the tight space.
"What is this? How did they find you?" Marcus stammered, his face turning pale as he backed away from the door.
Realizing they were completely outnumbered by a pack of apex predators, the thugs threw open the back window and scrambled out into the deep snow, fleeing toward their snowmobiles in sheer terror. Marcus followed closely behind, screaming as the wolves chased them off the property, ensuring they would never return to this mountain again.

As the noise of the snowmobiles faded into the distance, Jack stepped out onto his porch, his heart racing. The wolf he had pulled from the icy lake stood at the edge of the clearing. It stopped, turned its head, and looked directly at Jack. There was a profound, silent understanding between the man and the beast. The wolf let out a gentle howl, a farewell to its savior, before turning and leaping back into the dense pine forest with its pack.
Jack stood in the cold, feeling a warmth that had nothing to do with his fireplace. In the harshest environment on earth, he had found the most loyal allies. He realized that kindness is a universal language, capable of bridging the gap between man and the wildest creatures of nature.
