The Admiral's Revelation

The ballroom remained dead silent as Admiral Vance lowered his hand. He took off his heavy military dress jacket and gently draped it over Clara’s trembling shoulders, covering the scars that Victoria had so cruelly exposed.

Charles’s face drained of color, his mind racing as he recognized the legendary commander. Victoria’s triumphant sneer instantly withered into a look of sheer panic. The whispers in the room shifted from disgust to utter bewilderment.

"Admiral Vance," Charles stuttered, stepping forward with a nervous smile. "There has been a terrible misunderstanding. We didn't know she was..."
"You didn't know she was a decorated war hero?" Vance interrupted, his voice cold as steel. "Or did you simply think she was defenseless?"

Desperate to regain control of the room, Victoria took a step forward, her voice high and frantic.

"She’s a fraud!" Victoria shrieked, pointing at Clara. "She was dishonorably discharged! She got those scars in a street fight, not a mission! She's lying to all of you!"

The Admiral’s eyes narrowed. He reached inside his chest pocket and pulled out a thick, sealed document with an official government seal. He held it high for the entire ballroom to see.

"This file contains the classified details of Captain Sterling’s final mission," Vance announced. "But more importantly, it contains the unredacted transcripts of the communication that leaked her team's coordinates to the enemy five years ago."

Clara looked up, her breath catching in her throat. She had always believed her team was ambushed by chance. But the look of absolute terror on Charles’s face told a completely different story. He began to sweat, his hands shaking as he stared at the document in the Admiral's hand.

"No," Charles whispered, his voice cracking. "That's impossible."
"Is it, Charles?" Admiral Vance asked, stepping closer. "Because the IP address used to transmit those coordinates was traced directly to your family's private estate."
