Previously: When Grace discovered the devastating truth about what her mother-in-law did to her family, she stopped the wedding in the most dramatic way possible—and the truth didn't stop there.

Grace ran blindly toward the gravel parking lot, her breath coming in ragged, painful gasps. The cool night air hit her bare shoulders, but it did nothing to cool the fire burning in her chest. She needed to get away, to find a safe place to process the devastating proof she had just uncovered. But as she reached the edge of the property, a heavy hand clamped down on her shoulder.

She spun around, expecting to see Liam’s confused face. Instead, she was staring into the cold eyes of Arthur, Helen’s personal security guard.

"You need to come back to the pavilion, Grace," Arthur said, his grip tightening painfully. "Mrs. Vance wants to speak with you."

A Confrontation in the Shadows

"Get your hands off me!" Grace spat, trying to wrench herself free from his iron grip.

"Let her go, Arthur!"

Liam came sprinting down the path, his tuxedo jacket disheveled, his face pale with a mix of anger and confusion. The security guard hesitated before slowly releasing Grace's arm, stepping back into the shadows of the tall pines.

"Grace, what the hell was that?" Liam demanded, his voice shaking. "You just humiliated my mother in front of our entire family and all of our business associates! Have you completely lost your mind?"

"I haven't lost my mind, Liam. But your mother is about to lose everything," Grace said, her voice remarkably steady despite the tears spilling over her cheeks.

She reached into the hidden pocket of her wedding gown and pulled out the small USB drive and her sister's handwritten letter. She held them out like a weapon between them.

"Do you know what this is?" Grace asked, her voice trembling with emotion. "This is the proof that your mother framed my sister Lily. She threatened to destroy our father's business and throw Lily in prison using forged bank records unless she left the country and took the blame for Helen's own corporate embezzlement. She broke my family, Liam. And your mother is going to pay for it."

And your mother is going to pay for it."
