Previously: When a wealthy customer tried to humiliate Victoria and throw her out of an elite designer boutique, she had no idea who she was actually dealing with.

The Corporate Trap

As Victoria stepped out into the bright California sunshine, her phone buzzed. It was her chief of security, his voice tense.

"Victoria, we have a major problem,"
he warned.
"The woman from the boutique, Chloe, is the fiancée of Julian Vance. They've been using a network of shell companies to purchase shares of your company over the last six months."

The name Julian sent a cold shiver down Victoria's spine. Five years ago, her ex-husband had nearly ruined her, stealing millions from their joint accounts before fleeing the country. Now, he was back, using Chloe as a pawn to humiliate her and execute a hostile takeover. Victoria immediately ordered her driver to speed toward the corporate headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.

When she arrived at the penthouse executive floor, the atmosphere was chaotic. Phones were ringing off the hook, and her legal team was gathered in the conference room, looking pale. Victoria pushed open the double doors of her private office, only to find Julian sitting comfortably in her leather executive chair. Chloe stood beside him, no longer in her emerald dress, but wearing a tailored navy suit, holding a thick legal folder. Both of them wore smug, victorious smiles.

"Did you really think you could freeze us out, Victoria?"
Julian asked, his voice dripping with false warmth. Chloe threw the folder onto the mahogany desk.
"We now control forty percent of the voting shares,"
she sneered.
"And because of your public outburst and sudden closure of the Beverly Hills branch today, we have filed an emergency injunction to remove you as CEO, citing erratic behavior and corporate instability. The board is already voting."
Victoria stood frozen, realizing the boutique confrontation had been a calculated trap to make her look unstable. She looked at her lawyers, who could only look down in defeat.
