Previously: When a wealthy bully tried to banish Diana from a luxury boutique, she didn't argue. She simply made one phone call that brought the bully's entire world crashing down.

The Price of Arrogance

Diana had barely settled into the leather seat of her chauffeured town car when her phone vibrated. It was her chief financial officer, his voice tight with anxiety. The sudden freeze on the Beverly Hills branch had triggered an automatic audit, and what they found was staggering.

"Ms. Sterling, we have a major situation," the CFO reported. "The regional financial director, Richard, has been routing unauthorized corporate funds into private accounts. It looks like he’s been bankrolling his fiancée's lavish lifestyle for nearly a year. His fiancée is Heather."

Before Diana could process the sheer audacity of the betrayal, a black luxury sedan aggressively cut off her town car, forcing her driver to slam on the brakes. Through the tinted glass, Diana saw Richard step out, his face flushed with anger. Behind him, Heather followed, her face twisted in triumphant malice. She believed her powerful fiancé was about to put the "imposter" in her place.

Richard marched up and banged on Diana's window. Diana rolled it down calmly, looking at him with cool indifference.

"Do you have any idea who you just insulted?" Richard roared, pointing back at Heather. "You shut down my store! I will have you fired and blacklisted from this industry by sunset!"

Diana didn't blink. She simply tapped her tablet, opening the newly generated audit report, and turned the screen toward him. The screen displayed a detailed list of his fraudulent transactions, complete with his digital signature.

"I don't think you'll be blacklisting anyone, Richard," Diana said softly. "In fact, I think you should be worried about the federal prison sentence heading your way."

Richard stared at the screen, the color instantly draining from his face. He began to tremble violently as the realization of his ruined life crashed down upon him.
