Previously: When Clara's newborn flatlined, her ten-year-old son Julian did the impossible. But as their baby miraculously revived, a dark hospital cover-up threatened to tear their family apart forever.

A Dangerous Discovery

While Leo was stabilized and resting peacefully under the watchful eye of Dr. Miller, the initial wave of euphoria began to fade, replaced by a nagging suspicion. Thomas couldn't shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong. He decided to walk down to the cafeteria to clear his head, but as he passed the restricted administrative wing, he heard hushed, angry voices coming from a semi-private office. He recognized the sharp tone of Dr. Sterling, the chief of pediatrics.

Thomas stepped closer to the door, his heart hammering against his ribs. Through the cracked door, he saw Dr. Sterling holding a medical chart, his face twisted in anger as he confronted Dr. Miller.

"You destroy that chart right now, Miller," Dr. Sterling hissed, his voice trembling with suppressed rage. "If the parents or the board find out that a nurse administered a triple dosage of the sedative, this hospital will face a multi-million dollar lawsuit, and your career is over. We write it off as a natural respiratory failure that resolved itself."

Thomas felt the world tilt beneath his feet. His newborn son hadn't suffered a sudden, tragic medical relapse—he had been poisoned by a negligent staff member, and the chief of medicine was actively covering it up. Furious, Thomas kicked the door open, his eyes blazing. "I heard everything!" Thomas roared, pointing a finger at Dr. Sterling. "Give me that chart right now, or I am calling the police!"

Instead of panicking, Dr. Sterling’s expression hardened into ice. He calmly slid the chart into a locked drawer and pressed a button on his desk. "If you make a single accusation, Mr. Davis, I will have security escort you out of this building immediately," Sterling threatened. "I will file a report stating that you and your wife are emotionally unstable and posing a threat to the medical staff. You will be barred from seeing your son, and we will contact Child Protective Services. Choose your next words very carefully."
