Previously: David spent over a decade searching for the woman who vanished to save his life. When he finally found her on a busy city street, the truth behind her disappearance shattered him.

A Son's Ultimate Triumph

Harold Vance opened the folder, presenting a legal document. "Your father still controls the majority shares of your real estate firm through a shell company, David. Sign this agreement to forfeit your assets and leave the city with your mother forever, or we will liquidate your company and leave you both bankrupt and ruined." Clara whimpered, clutching David's arm, but to Harold's surprise, David did not flinch. Instead, a slow, cold smile spread across his face.

David stood up, adjusting the cuffs of his navy blue suit. He looked directly into the attorney's eyes. "You and my father always thought you were the smartest men in the room," David said calmly. "But you underestimated me. I didn't just spend the last twelve years searching for my mother. I spent them studying my father's business empire, finding every crack in his armor."

David pulled his smartphone from his pocket and tapped the screen. "Three weeks ago, I quietly finalized a hostile takeover of my father's primary holding firm. This morning at nine o'clock, the board voted to oust him. Richard no longer has his wealth, his power, or his shell companies. And as for you, Harold, I bought out your law firm's debt. You are officially fired."

Harold's smug expression instantly disintegrated into sheer panic. He began to stammer, but David raised a hand to silence him. "And one more thing," David added, pointing toward two unmarked black SUVs pulling up behind the sedan. "I shared all of my mother's evidence of my father's financial crimes with the federal authorities yesterday. They've been wiretapping my phone and tracking my location. They heard every word of your extortion attempt just now."

As federal agents stepped out of the vehicles to arrest Harold and his associates, David turned back to his mother. He knelt beside Clara, taking her trembling hands in his. "It's over, Mom," he whispered, tears of relief in his eyes. "He can never hurt us again. Let's go home." Clara wept, wrapping her arms around her brilliant, brave son, finally safe after a lifetime of fear. True strength is not found in the power to control others, but in the courage to protect the ones we love.
