Previously: When a towering prison kingpin tried to humiliate Paige in front of the entire yard, he expected an easy target. He had no idea who she really was—or the deadly skills she possessed.

Garrett did not wait long. Fueled by the crowd's cheers and Paige’s silent defiance, he lunged forward. His massive fist cut through the air, aimed directly at her face. It was a blow meant to end the fight instantly. But Paige was not an ordinary inmate. Before the punch could connect, she slipped inside his guard with blinding speed, using his own forward momentum against him.

The Tables Turn

With precise military efficiency, Paige grabbed Garrett’s wrist, twisted his arm, and drove her knee hard into his ribs. The distinct sound of cracking bone echoed across the concrete yard. Before the giant could comprehend what was happening, Paige swept his leg, sending his massive three-hundred-pound frame crashing to the ground. He gasped for air, clutching his side in agony. The cheers from the crowd died instantly, replaced by a stunned, breathless silence.

Before Paige could even step back, the heavy iron doors of the yard burst open. A squad of guards, led by the corrupt Warden Vance, rushed in with batons raised. Instead of stopping the conflict, they bypassed the groaning Garrett and slammed Paige against the concrete wall, locking her in heavy handcuffs. Vance leaned in close, whispering in her ear.

"You should have let him finish the job, Paige. Now, we do this the hard way."

They dragged her down to the dark, damp solitary confinement cells in the prison’s basement. Hours passed in freezing darkness until the heavy steel door creaked open. It was Deputy Miller, a guard Paige knew she could trust. He looked around nervously before whispering to her in the shadows.

"Paige, they have your sister, Lily. The warden’s men are holding her at a safehouse. If you don't sign a confession admitting to the treason charges they framed you with, they’ll kill her tonight."
