Previously: When Jessica's mother-in-law forced a casket into her wedding aisle, she thought it was a cruel joke. But opening it revealed a dark family secret.

A Shocking Revelation

Victoria's screech shattered the serene woodland atmosphere.

"How dare you!"
she roared, standing up from the front pew with her face twisted in pure, unadulterated rage. She marched up the aisle, pointing a trembling finger at us.
"You cheap, disrespectful girl! You've corrupted my son! You think my husband's memory is a joke? Open the casket! Let everyone see what you are laughing at! Let the shame consume you!"

The guests gasped, and the minister stood frozen in shock. Thomas tried to step between his mother and me, pleading with her to stop the madness. But Victoria was possessed by a manic desire to humiliate us. She grabbed a heavy metal candelabra from the altar and began frantically prying at the heavy brass latches of the casket. With a harsh metallic groan, the lid swung open.

A dead, suffocating silence fell over the forest clearing. There was no body inside the casket. Instead, resting on a plush velvet pillow, was a locked steel briefcase and a sealed envelope with Thomas's name written on it in his father's unmistakable handwriting. Victoria's face turned completely white, her sophisticated facade shattering instantly. She staggered backward, dropping the candelabra into the dirt as Thomas reached inside to claim the letter.

Thomas tore the envelope open, his eyes scanning the pages as his face hardened into a mask of pure disbelief and sorrow.

"You lied to me,"
Thomas whispered, his voice cracking as he looked at his mother.
"You lied about everything. My father didn't die of a heart attack, Jessica. And he didn't write that codicil. He knew what she was doing to him..."

He knew what she was doing to him..."
