They Took Her Father's Legacy and Laughed, Until She Picked Up the Rifle
Previously: After being wrongfully stripped of her late father’s security empire by her corrupt ex-husband, Nicole returns to the desert firing line to reclaim what is rightfully hers with seven perfect shots.
Every shot found its mark, a relentless rhythm of steel hitting steel that echoed like thunder across the canyon. By the time the seventh casing hit the dry ground, the silence on the range was absolute. The wealthy clients were whispering in awe, but the tension shifted instantly when a second figure emerged from the ranch office.
It was Kyle, Nicole's ex-husband. He looked pale, his eyes darting from the perfectly destroyed targets to Nicole's calm, resolute face. He knew exactly what that level of skill meant—she hadn't spent her three years of exile crying; she had spent them preparing.

Standoff in the Dust
Kyle marched over, stepping between Dan and Nicole, trying to reassert his dominance. He pulled a folded document from his pocket and laid it on the wooden table.
"A neat trick, Nicole," Kyle whispered, his voice dripping with venom. "But tricks don't change contracts. You sign this waiver, giving up all claims to your father's estate, or you leave here in handcuffs. We have the local sheriff on our payroll, remember?"
Dan stepped up beside his brother, his hand resting menacingly on his sidearm. The threat was clear: in this isolated stretch of desert, they held all the power, and they weren't afraid to use it to protect their stolen empire.
"You really think you can scare me?" Nicole asked, her voice steady as she kept her hands near the rifle.
"We don't need to scare you, we just need you gone," Kyle snarled. "Sign the paper, take the small settlement we offered, and run. If you don't, we'll make sure you disappear out here. No one is coming to save you."
Nicole looked down at the paper, then up at the two men who had destroyed her father’s legacy. Slowly, a cold smile spread across her face. She reached into her navy blue windbreaker, but instead of a pen, she pulled out a small, high-tech recording device with a flashing red light.
"I didn't come here to shoot targets, Kyle," she said quietly. "I came to get a confession."
