The Ghost of the Past
Before Kyle could even stammer an apology, the heavy rumble of a military SUV broke the silence. The vehicle screeched to a halt, and Commander Vance, a highly decorated officer, stepped out. He marched toward the counter, his eyes scanning the tense scene. Kyle immediately snapped to attention, saluting with rigid discipline, eager to find an ally. But Vance ignored him entirely. His gaze was locked onto Frank’s forearm, specifically the faded black wolf tattoo.
To Kyle's absolute horror, the Commander slowly raised his hand and offered Frank a crisp, deeply respectful salute. The young soldiers gasped in unison.

"Sir, I didn't know you were in the area," Vance said, his voice laced with profound reverence. "We've been looking for you."
Kyle's face drained of all remaining color. He looked between the legendary commander and the old man he had just insulted. Vance turned a furious gaze onto Kyle, his voice dropping to a harsh growl.
"You have no idea who you're speaking to, soldier. This man led the Ghost Unit. He saved my life, and the lives of entire battalions, before you were even born."
The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife. Vance turned back to Frank, his expression turning grave. He explained that a highly classified tracking mission in the rugged canyons nearby had stalled. The modern technology had failed, and they needed the old-school, unmatched tracking and marksmanship skills of a Ghost. Vance begged Frank to assist them. Kyle stood frozen, realizing his arrogant behavior had not only humiliated him but had also insulted a living legend whose help they desperately needed.
