A Strange Boy Pointed at My Watch and Delivered a Message From the Grave
The Boy with the Silver Watch
The grand ballroom of the Bellevue Hotel was a glittering spectacle of high society. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ornate ceiling, casting a warm, shimmering glow over the crowd dressed in elegant black-tie attire. But for Marcus, the celebration felt like a hollow masquerade. Tonight was a charity gala held in memory of his late father, Scott, a legendary search-and-rescue specialist who had tragically perished in a mountain landslide five years ago. Marcus stepped out into the quiet, grand hallway to escape the overwhelming noise, his eyes tracing the familiar scratches on the silver metal watch gracing his left wrist. It was the only tangible piece of his father he had left.
As he stood leaning against the gilded walls, a gentle tug on his sleeve broke his reverie. Marcus looked down to find a young boy, no older than seven, looking up at him. The boy had short curly brown hair, a slim build, and wore a dark green polo shirt. Strangely, his face and arms were smudged with dirt, a stark contrast to the immaculate luxury surrounding them. The boy pointed a trembling finger directly at Marcus’s wrist.

"Your watch, it's just like my dad's," the boy said earnestly.
Marcus’s heart seized. Tears welled in his eyes as he knelt on the cold marble floor. "What is your dad's name?" he asked, his voice shaking. The boy replied with urgent intensity,
"Scott. Take it."Marcus stared down at the watch, tears streaming down his face as the boy added,
"Your dad saved my life."Before Marcus could speak, the boy leapt into his arms, hugging him tightly. Overwhelmed with emotion, Marcus held him close. In that warm embrace, Marcus whispered, "My father said to ask if you still keep your promise, he is alive." When Marcus pulled back, holding the boy by his shoulders, he was utterly stunned, staring in absolute disbelief.
