A Groom Brutalized My Daughter for Stealing, Until the CCTV Footage Exposed the Truth
The Crimson Silk Runner
The opulent wedding hall of the Grand Regency was supposed to be a place of celebration, but for Natalie, it instantly transformed into a house of horrors. The moment she stepped into the grand foyer, her heart plummeted. There, sprawled on the pristine white silk runner, was her seven-year-old daughter, Zoe. The little girl was curled in a ball, sobbing hysterically, a nasty gash on her forehead dripping fresh blood onto the guest sign-in book nearby.
Standing over her like a towering judge was Vincent, the groom and Natalie’s wealthy future brother-in-law. Clad in a sharp grey three-piece suit, his face was contorted in a mask of pure disgust. Next to him stood his mother, the formidable Mrs. Vance, looking on with cold approval. Natalie threw herself onto her knees, pulling Zoe into her arms.
"Mommy, it hurts," Zoe wailed, burying her blood-stained face into Natalie’s navy blue gown. "I didn’t do anything wrong!"
Natalie glared up at Vincent, her voice trembling with a mixture of terror and motherly rage. "What did you do to my daughter?" she demanded, clutching Zoe closer.
Vincent didn't even flinch. He sneered, adjusting his cuffs with sickening indifference.
"That’s what happens when you raise a thief," Vincent said, his voice dripping with condescension. "She stole my family’s heirloom diamond brooch right off the bridal suite table. I caught her trying to sneak away with it, and she tripped over her own clumsy feet when I went to retrieve it."
"I didn’t take it, I promise!" Zoe cried, her tiny hands shaking. "I was just looking at the flowers!"
Natalie knew her daughter. Zoe was gentle, honest, and terrified of trouble. She would never steal. Then, Natalie’s eyes caught a tiny green light flashing directly above them. A high-definition security camera was nestled in the ornate ceiling moldings, pointed directly at the sign-in table.
A cold, sharp smile cut through Natalie’s tears. She stared directly into Vincent’s eyes.
"You should have checked the CCTV... before you touched my daughter," Natalie whispered.
In an instant, Vincent’s smug, arrogant expression withered into sheer, paralyzing shock.
