It was a deceptively peaceful Tuesday afternoon on Oak Street when the quiet of the suburban neighborhood was shattered by screams. Seventy-five-year-old Martha lay trembling on the concrete of her own driveway, her fragile frame curled in a defensive ball. In her frail hands, she desperately clutched a faded yellow fleece blanket as if her very life depended on it. Standing over her was her forty-five-year-old son, Richard, dressed in a sharp navy blue blazer that contrasted sharply with the raw, ugly rage twisting his face.
