A Pregnant Woman Is Attacked in the Hospital While Her Husband Watches Silently
The sterile, fluorescent lights of St. Jude’s Maternity Ward hummed with a deceptive peace before the screaming began. Sarah, heavily pregnant and clad in a simple light green gown, collapsed onto the cold linoleum floor. A sudden, sharp contraction had seized her, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the terror sprinting down the pastel-walled corridor. Jessica, wearing a dark orange dress that clashed violently with the hospital’s soothing tones, charged forward with her eyes wild with rage.
"You don't deserve that baby, Sarah! It was supposed to be mine!"
Jessica shrieked, lunging with her hands outstretched like claws. Sarah cowered, weeping and shielding her swollen belly. She looked desperately toward her husband, Julian, who stood leaning against the wall in his sharp, dark grey suit. He didn't move. He didn't blink. He simply watched the scene unfold with an eerie, detached calmness.
Just as Jessica’s fingers were about to reach Sarah, a white coat blurred into the frame. Dr. Thomas, a middle-aged physician with graying hair and a fierce sense of duty, stepped directly between them. With a grunt of effort, he blocked Jessica’s frantic strikes.
"Ah! Get back!"
Dr. Thomas roared, catching Jessica by the arms and, with a powerful shove, flinging her onto the floor. Nurses in teal scrubs gasped in absolute shock, frozen in place. Dr. Thomas stood protectively over Sarah, his chest heaving, while Julian remained perfectly still, a chilling smirk playing on his lips. Sarah sobbed on the floor, realizing the man she loved was her greatest enemy.
