Amidst the clatter of plastic trays and the dull roar of teenage gossip, Luke sat alone at a corner table. His fingers flew across the keyboard of his battered silver laptop, his messy blonde hair falling over his forehead. He was focused, almost desperately so, on the lines of data scrolling down his screen. He didn't notice the sudden hush that fell over the surrounding tables, nor did he see the shadow looming behind him.

Without warning, a freezing, sticky wave of dark cola cascaded over his head.
