A Chance Encounter in the Grand Foyer

The polished terrazzo floors of the historic Grand Regent Hotel mirrored the glittering light of the massive crystal chandeliers overhead. Andrew, dressed in an impeccably tailored charcoal suit, walked briskly through the lobby, his mind consumed by corporate acquisitions and endless board meetings. To the world, Andrew was a self-made billionaire, a man who possessed everything money could buy. Yet, beneath the expensive fabric and the stoic demeanor lay a past he could never fully escape—a past defined by a debt he could never repay.

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by a small voice. "You have a watch like my father's."

Andrew stopped in his tracks. He looked down to find a young boy, no older than eight, standing in a faded navy blue hoodie. The boy’s brown hair was slightly messy, but his eyes held an intense, searching curiosity. Andrew’s gaze drifted to his own wrist, where a rare, vintage silver watch sat. It was a timepiece of immense sentimental value, one he never took off.

Kneeling down to the boy’s eye level, Andrew felt an strange, inexplicable tug in his chest. "What's your dad's name?" he asked, his voice softening.

"Scott," the boy replied simply.

The name struck Andrew like a physical blow. The breath caught in his throat as memories rushed back—memories of cold nights, a burning car, and a brave man who risked everything to pull a penniless stranger to safety. Andrew looked closer at the boy's face and saw the unmistakable resemblance. This was Scott's son.

Without a second thought, Andrew pulled the young boy, Mason, into a warm, fierce embrace. Tears welled in the billionaire's eyes as he unclasped the heavy silver watch from his wrist. He pressed it gently into Mason's small hands.

"Keep this watch, Mason," Andrew whispered, his voice trembling with raw emotion. "Your father... he saved me when I had nothing."
