Husband Catches Cruel Wife Forcing His Long-Lost Sister to Scrub the Floors
A Shocking Homecoming
The foyer of the grand Brookhaven mansion was breathtaking, paved with polished white marble that reflected the glittering crystal chandelier above. But on this rainy Tuesday afternoon, the luxury felt cold and suffocating. Kneeling on the wet floor was Alice, a young woman in a simple, faded grey dress. Her hands were red and raw from the harsh chemicals as she repeatedly squeezed a cheap sponge into a plastic bucket. She kept her head low, trying to block out the sharp, mocking laughter of the woman standing over her.
Genevieve stood there, swirling a glass of expensive Pinot Noir, her designer heels clicking sharply on the dry patches of the floor. She looked down at Alice with pure disdain. To Genevieve, people like Alice were invisible, mere instruments to keep her beautiful world spotless. Just as she was about to demand Alice re-wash the eastern corner, the heavy oak front doors swung open.
Julian, a prominent businessman in his early forty's, stepped into the foyer. He was dressed in a sharp navy suit, carrying his leather briefcase, his face tired from a long day of corporate negotiations. He stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes darting from his wife to the young woman kneeling on the floor. A strange, suffocating silence filled the room.
Genevieve, unfazed, took a slow sip of her wine and smiled dismissively.
"Don't mind her, darling," she said, her voice dripping with condescension. "She's just doing what she's good at, cleaning."
But Julian didn't smile back. His face drained of color, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he stared at Alice's profile. Alice slowly looked up, her tear-filled eyes meeting his. The briefcase slipped from Julian's grip, clattering loudly against the marble. Instead of speaking to his wife, he pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and barked into the receiver,
"Cancel everything, now!"
Genevieve gasped in utter confusion, her glass trembling.
"What? Julian, what are you doing?"she asked. Julian turned his gaze to her, his eyes colder than ice.
"This house is no longer yours,"he stated flatly.
