A Brutal Betrayal on the Driveway

The gravel of the sprawling estate’s driveway dug into Grace’s knees, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the agony shattering her heart. Clutching her swollen, seven-month pregnant belly, she looked up at the man she had loved for five years. Thomas, dressed in a sharp, black designer suit that cost more than most people earned in a month, looked down at her with nothing but cold disgust. His face was twisted in a sneer as he grabbed her by the arm, dragging her away from the glossy black SUV.

"You're done, Grace! You leave with nothing!" Thomas roared, his voice echoing across the manicured lawns of the mansion.

Grace wept, her tears mixing with the dust on her face. She tried to pull away, her floral maxi dress catching on the gravel. "Stop, please, Thomas! Think of our baby!" she screamed, her voice cracking with pure terror. But Thomas was blind to her pleas. He had spent months plotting to seize her family's inheritance, and now that he believed he had secured the paperwork, he wanted her gone.

Just as Thomas raised his hand to drag her further, the heavy iron gates of the estate swung open with a screech. A dark navy sedan roared up the driveway, screeching to a halt just feet away from them. Out stepped Henry, an older, grey-haired man wearing a dark navy pea coat. His eyes were ablaze with a protective fury that made even the arrogant Thomas freeze.

"Get away from her!" Henry yelled, his voice carrying the authority of a man who commanded empires.

Without hesitation, Henry rushed forward, shoving Thomas back with surprising strength. Thomas stumbled against the SUV, startled. Henry immediately knelt beside Grace, wrapping his arms around her trembling shoulders. "I've got you, my dear," he whispered. "You're safe now."

he whispered. "You're safe now."
