The sun beat down warmly on the veranda of the luxury restaurant, casting elegant shadows across the pristine white tablecloths. David, dressed in a sharp dark blue suit, looked across the table at his wife, Evelyn. She looked radiant in a white summer dress, her brown wavy hair catching the light. It was their anniversary, a celebration of two years of what David believed was marital bliss. But the peaceful atmosphere was shattered in an instant.

A Sudden Accusation

David’s stepson, eight-year-old Mason, stepped forward from the edge of the veranda. He wasn't wearing the smile of a child at a celebration; his face was pale, his small fists clenched. He pointed a trembling finger directly at his sister, Emma, who stood behind him balancing on her crutches.
