A Little Boy Handed a Biker a Toy and Said the Words That Changed His Life
A Desperate Plea in the Field
The overcast sky hung low over the valley, casting a somber grey light across the open field where the Iron Brotherhood had parked their motorcycles. The heavy scent of gasoline and damp earth filled the air. Colt, an imposing figure with a thick beard and arms covered in intricate black-and-grey tattoos, stood leaning against his chopper. He was sharing a quiet laugh with his road brothers when a sudden rustling in the tall grass caught his attention.
Out of the brush ran a small boy. He couldn't have been more than seven years old, wearing a faded grey hoodie that was far too large for his small frame. His face was smudged with dirt, and his eyes were wide with sheer panic. In his haste, the boy’s foot caught on a hidden root, and he tumbled hard onto the damp grass. He didn't cry out from the fall; instead, he scrambled to his feet, clutching a small object tightly to his chest as if it were his most precious possession.
He ran straight toward Colt, stopping just a few feet away. His chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath. With trembling hands, he held out a beautifully carved wooden toy motorcycle.
"Please sir, buy it," the boy pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion.
Colt’s tough exterior softened. He slowly knelt down on the grass, bringing himself to the boy's eye level. He gently took the wooden toy, marveling at the intricate craftsmanship. On the bottom of the toy, a familiar symbol was carved—a double-headed eagle with a notched wing.
"Who made this?" Colt asked, his voice low and steady.
The boy wiped a tear from his cheek with his sleeve, his shoulders shaking.
"My dad," he whispered.
Colt stared at the carving, a cold dread settling in his stomach. He looked back up at the boy's face, searching his features.
"What's his name?" Colt asked, his heart hammering.
The boy’s lips trembled violently as fresh tears spilled over his eyelashes.
"He said if he died, I should find the biker who is my father," the boy cried.
