The Miracle in the Penthouse

Arthur adjusted the cuffs of his bespoke navy suit, his gaze drifting over the glittering Manhattan skyline. From the top floor of the exclusive penthouse restaurant, the world looked small, manageable, and entirely subject to his will. Yet, as he looked down at his own legs, draped in a cashmere blanket over his high-tech wheelchair, a familiar bitterness crept into his chest. Ten years ago, a devastating car crash had shattered his spine. Since then, his billions had bought him everything except the one thing he truly desired: the ability to walk.

Suddenly, the ambient chatter of the elite diners faded as a strange figure approached Arthur’s table. The young man could not have been older than twenty. He wore a faded, tattered denim jacket, and his face was smudged with street grime. He stood out like a stain on silk. Before the security guards could intervene, the boy stepped forward, his eyes locking onto Arthur's with an eerie intensity.

"Sir," the boy said, his voice barely a whisper.

Arthur raised a hand, signaling his bodyguards to stand down. He was amused by the sheer audacity of this intruder. He took a slow sip of his vintage champagne and smiled skeptically.

"You?" Arthur asked, his voice dripping with condescension.

The boy did not flinch. Instead, he looked directly at Arthur’s motionless legs. "I can fix your leg," he said quietly.

Arthur chuckled, the sound dry and humorless.

"How long?"

"A few seconds," the boy replied without hesitation.

Laughter bubbled up from Arthur’s chest.

"I'll give you a million dollars if you can do that,"
he scoffed, gesturing to his useless limbs. The boy simply knelt onto the cold marble floor and reached for Arthur’s foot.
"Count,"
the boy commanded. Arthur sneered,
"This is ridiculous."
But as the boy’s fingers touched his toes, a sudden, searing warmth rushed through Arthur's body.
"One, two. Stand up,"
the boy counted. Arthur’s expression froze in absolute shock as he felt his muscles surge with life. Instinctively, he stood up. Nearby, a waiter gasped, and a crystal champagne flute shattered on the floor.
