The heavy oak doors of the courtroom felt like the gates to a prison. Seventeen-year-old Lucas gripped his younger brother Teddy’s hand so tightly his knuckles turned white. The courtroom was silent, save for the low hum of the air conditioner and the rustle of legal papers.
