A Terrifying Encounter in the Diner

The heavy rain beat relentlessly against the glass windows of the Route 66 Diner, a worn-down roadside sanctuary illuminated by flickering fluorescent lights. Inside, the air smelled of stale grease and burnt coffee. John sat alone in a red vinyl booth, his large, tattooed hands wrapped around a warm mug. A bald, imposing man with a thick grey beard and a weathered leather jacket, John looked like someone who had lived a dozen lives, most of them hard. He was staring intently at the dark liquid, lost in the heavy silence of his own thoughts.

Suddenly, the diner's front door burst open with a violent gust of wind. A tiny girl, no older than seven, stumbled into the warmth. Her name was Lily. She wore a dusty, dirt-smudged t-shirt, and her dark pants were stained with fresh drops of blood. Her eyes were wide with pure terror, tears carving clean streaks through the grime on her face. John looked up in shock, his protective instincts instantly overriding his weary detachment.

Lily locked eyes with the massive biker and ran straight to his booth, her small body trembling uncontrollably. John leaned across the table, his deep voice softening into a gentle, concerned rumble. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, trying to offer a shred of comfort to the frightened child.

Lily gasped for air, her chest heaving as she sobbed. She leaned in closer, whispering a chilling confession: "That's not my dad..."

Before John could process her words, a heavy shadow fell across the booth. The door swung open again, and Marcus, another large biker in a black leather jacket, stepped inside. Marcus had a cold, predatory smile. John instantly stood up, his towering frame blocking Lily from view. He barked a sharp, protective warning to the intruder: "Stay behind me."
