The afternoon sun beat down on the prestigious streets of Manhattan, casting a brilliant glow over the pristine windows of Aura Bridal. Inside, a world of luxury awaited elite brides, but outside on the concrete sidewalk, Clara stood in stark contrast to the opulence. Her auburn hair was a tangled mess, and her oversized white t-shirt was marred by dark, faded stains. Yet, her eyes were fixed with absolute adoration on the window display.

Beneath the bright glass stood a masterpiece: a sweeping white lace wedding gown with intricate floral embroidery that seemed to catch the light like fallen snow. Clara pressed her fingers gently against the cool glass, a tear slipping down her cheek.

"What a beautiful dress!" she whispered, her voice cracking with an emotion she couldn't fully comprehend.

For months, Clara had been wandering the city, her memory a hazy fog after a tragic accident. But looking at this dress, something deep inside her soul stirred. It felt familiar, like a long-lost dream.

Her reverie was rudely shattered when the boutique's heavy glass door swung open. Victoria, the store manager, stepped out. Clad in a perfectly tailored charcoal grey dress, Victoria crossed her arms, her gaze sharp and dismissive as she looked Clara up and down.

"Please leave," Victoria said coldly. "You are making our customers uncomfortable."

Clara looked past her, seeing several wealthy clients inside pointing and whispering behind manicured hands. Clara's heart squeezed, but she couldn't pull herself away.

"I just want to try on that dress," Clara pleaded softly, her eyes wide with desperate hope.

Victoria let out a harsh, mocking laugh, gesturing to the amused onlookers inside.

"You?! Try on that dress?!" Victoria sneered. "This gown is a one-of-a-kind designer piece worth fifty thousand dollars. You couldn't even afford the thread used to sew it. Get off our property before I call security."
