The Warning on the Helipad

The midday sun beat down mercilessly on the sprawling, manicured lawns of the Vance estate. Toby’s lungs burned as he sprinted across the green grass, his vision blurred by the warm blood dripping from his nose. His white shirt was torn and stained, and his straw hat was barely clinging to his head. Behind him, the stables felt like a lifetime away. Ahead of him, the twin rotors of a sleek, black luxury helicopter were already spinning, creating a deafening roar that filled the air.

Arthur Vance, a distinguished older gentleman in a sharp tuxedo, was guiding his wife, Eleanor, toward the boarding steps. Eleanor looked breathtakingly elegant in her designer gown, her blonde hair perfectly coiffed. They were heading to a high-society charity gala in New York. They were completely unaware of the deadly trap waiting for them in the sky.

"Sir, sir! Don't get on that helicopter, your wife put a bomb inside!"
Toby screamed, his voice cracking with desperation as he collapsed onto the grass just feet away from the couple.

Arthur stopped dead in his tracks, his brow furrowing in deep confusion. Eleanor, however, didn't hesitate. Her face twisted into a mask of cold fury as she stepped between Toby and her husband.

"But what on earth are you saying, crazy boy? Go back to the stables where you belong,"
she snapped, her voice dripping with aristocratic disdain.

Toby wiped his bloody nose with the back of his hand, looking past her to Arthur. He knew his word against a billionaire's wife meant nothing, but he had to try.

"If you don't believe me, sir, ask her to get on the helicopter with you right now,"
Toby pleaded, his eyes locked onto Arthur's.

The atmosphere turned icy. Arthur slowly turned his head, his sharp eyes focusing on his wife. Eleanor froze, her elegant facade cracking for a fraction of a second as their eyes locked in deep, sudden suspicion.
