The heavy oak doors of the courtroom creaked open with a sudden, violent force, shattering the suffocating silence of the trial. Every head in the gallery turned. Grace stood in the doorway, her golden-blonde hair disheveled, her floral dress damp from the heavy rain outside. Breathing heavily, she marched down the center aisle, her voice ringing out with desperate clarity: "My nanny didn't kill my father!"

At the front of the courtroom, the atmosphere instantly turned icy. Rebecca, Grace’s stepmother, sat rigid, her dark-brown hair perfectly coiffed, her face pale. Beside her, William, the defense attorney representing the accused nanny, turned in shock. "Who is that?" William whispered, his eyes wide as he looked between the two women.

"She's lying!" Grace cried, pointing a trembling finger directly at Rebecca. The courtroom erupted into whispers. Rebecca stood up, her polite facade cracking as she pointed angrily back at the young woman. "Get her out of here! She is hysterical!" Rebecca shouted, her voice echoing off the high ceilings.

But Grace didn't back down. She approached the bar, her eyes locked on her stepmother. "I saw what happened," she whispered, her voice carrying a weight that silenced the room.

From the elevated bench, Judge Judith, an elderly woman with sharp, discerning eyes, leaned forward. She banged her gavel once, restoring order. "What did you see, young lady?" the judge asked, her tone stern but curious.

Grace reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, metallic red device. She held it high for the entire room to see. "My daddy recorded everything," Grace announced, her voice cracking with emotion. "He knew he was in danger. And he made sure the truth would survive."
