The autumn wind bit through Hannah’s thin, stained sweater as she sat huddled at a metal table outside the fast-food diner. Her hands trembled, not just from the cold, but from the sheer exhaustion of a world that had crumbled in a single afternoon. She was seven months pregnant, homeless, and completely abandoned. Just hours earlier, her husband, Carter, had thrown her out of their suburban home after she discovered his sickening secret: he had planned to sell their unborn baby to a wealthy couple for a massive payout.
