The Admiral Saluted the Covert Agent on Base, Realizing She Was His Long-Lost Daughter
Previously: When Admiral Edward Vance recognized the mysterious woman on his navy base, a single salute changed everything, unraveling a web of military secrets and a deeply hidden family truth.
A Father's Ultimate Choice
The tension in the room was palpable. Megan held her breath behind the filing cabinet, her hand resting on her concealed firearm. She could easily take the shot, but the angle was obstructed, and any sudden movement could force Sterling to pull the trigger on her father. She had to wait for the perfect moment.
Edward looked down the barrel of Sterling’s weapon, his expression completely calm. After a lifetime of service, he feared nothing, except losing his daughter a second time. He slowly stood up from his desk, placing his hands flat on the wooden surface.

“You are making a grave mistake, Sterling,” Edward said, his voice echoing with absolute authority. “The Pentagon already has the data. Killing us will not save you. It will only seal your fate.”
Sterling sneered, his finger tightening on the trigger. “I am willing to take that risk, Admiral. Now, where is she?”
Suddenly, the Admiral didn’t reach for a weapon. Instead, he reached under his desk and pressed the emergency alarm button, triggering the base’s red-alert sirens. The deafening wail of the alarm filled the building, startling Sterling. In that split second of distraction, Megan lunged from behind the cabinet.
With swift, expert movements, Megan tackled Sterling to the floor, disarming him before he could fire a clean shot. The gun clattered across the floor as military police burst through the doors, weapons drawn. They quickly subdued and handcuffed the traitorous Chief of Staff, leading him away in silence.
As the sirens faded, Edward walked over to his daughter. He looked at her with a mixture of pride and relief, realizing how much she had grown. He extended his hand, but Megan bypassed it, stepping forward to wrap her arms around him in a tight, long-overdue hug. The years of silence and pain finally melted away, replaced by a new bond forged in duty and love. They had saved the base, and more importantly, they had saved their family.
