Previously: When Officer Thompson pulled over a quiet 60-year-old man in a vintage sedan, he expected an easy arrest. He had no idea the driver held the power to destroy his entire career.

The Trap Escalates

Ignoring Frank’s warning, Officer Thompson walked over to the vintage Buick, his boots crunching loudly on the gravel. With blatant disregard for the classic vehicle, he threw open the driver's side door and began tossing the contents of the glove compartment onto the floorboard. Frank watched in stoic silence. He knew exactly what was happening. This wasn't a random traffic stop; it was a targeted hit on his reputation.

Within moments, Thompson emerged from the passenger side, a smug, triumphant grin stretching across his face. In his gloved hand, he held a small, heat-sealed plastic bag filled with a white, powdery substance. He walked back to Frank, dangling the bag in front of the older man's face like a trophy.

"Well, look what we have here, old man,"

Thompson sneered, his voice dripping with malice.

"Looks like your little joyride is over. You're going away for a very long time."

Frank looked at the bag, then back at Thompson. "Who paid you to put that in my car, Officer?" Frank asked quietly, his voice devoid of anger, carrying only deep disappointment. Thompson's grin faltered for a split second, a flash of nervousness crossing his features before he quickly masked it with anger, ordering Frank to shut his mouth.

Before Thompson could push Frank toward the patrol car, the roaring sound of a high-powered engine echoed down the empty highway. A sleek, black unmarked SUV tore down the asphalt, turning sharply and screeching to a halt right behind the police cruiser, kicking up a blinding cloud of dust. The heavy door swung open, and a man in a sharp, tailored dark suit stepped out, his face grim. It was Police Chief Thomas Vance.

Thompson’s eyes lit up. He marched toward his boss, eager to claim credit for a major drug bust. "Chief Vance! Sir! I've got a major dealer here, caught him red-handed with a heavy shipment!" Thompson boasted. But as Chief Vance walked closer, his eyes bypassed the rookie and landed directly on Frank. In an instant, the Chief’s face drained of all color, his eyes widening in sheer, unadulterated terror.
