Previously: When a smug young soldier mocks a 71-year-old veteran at a desert shooting range, he expects an easy laugh. But one flawless shot and a legendary tattoo change everything.

Unfinished Business

The silence at the shooting range was absolute. Nobody dared to breathe as Arthur calmly set the rifle down. The young soldiers who had been snickering moments ago now stood frozen, staring at Arthur as if he were a phantom. Cole was trembling, his face completely drained of color. He knew the history. The Ghost Unit was supposed to be a myth—a classified group of elite snipers who operated in the dark to protect the country from catastrophic threats.

Before Cole could find his voice to apologize, the roar of an engine broke the silence. A black SUV tore through the dust, halting abruptly near the firing line. Two men in dark suits stepped out. The leader, Agent Henderson, walked directly toward Arthur, ignoring the active-duty soldiers entirely. He stopped, snapped a crisp military salute, and held out a classified folder.

"Sir, we need you. It's happening again,"

Henderson said, his voice laced with urgency.

Arthur took the folder and opened it. Inside was a high-resolution satellite photo of a remote, heavily fortified compound in the mountains of Eastern Europe. Painted on the steel gates of the compound was a chilling sight: the exact same black wolf symbol, painted in fresh, dripping red paint. But what made Arthur’s blood run cold was the second photo. It showed Marcus, his former spotter and closest friend, tied to a chair, bruised but alive.

Marcus had gone missing thirty years ago during their final, disastrous mission. Arthur had spent decades believing his partner was dead. Now, the rogue syndicate they had fought—the Iron Fang—had resurfaced, and they were using Marcus as bait to draw the Ghost out of retirement.

Cole, realizing the gravity of the situation, stepped forward. His smugness was entirely gone, replaced by deep respect and shame. "Sir... let me come with you. I want to help. I have a team." Arthur looked at the young soldier, seeing the raw fear and determination in his eyes. The stakes were higher than they had ever been, and Arthur knew he couldn't do this alone.
