An Arrogant Pilot Tried to Humiliate Me in Front of Our Entire Squadron
Previously: When Lieutenant Carter tried to dismiss Jessica as a mere "coffee girl" in front of the entire squadron, he had no idea who she actually was—or what was coming.
The Shocking Revelation
Before the tension in the room could boil over, the heavy double doors at the back of the amphitheater swung open with a resounding thud. The sharp click of polished boots echoed on the linoleum floor as General Vance, the base commander, marched into the room, flanked by two high-ranking military officials.
"Attention on deck!" a voice barked.
Instantly, every pilot in the room stood up, locking their eyes forward and saluting. The silence was absolute. General Vance walked up to the podium, his stern eyes scanning the rows of airmen.

"At ease," the General commanded.
As the airmen took their seats, Carter quickly sat down, casting one final, triumphant smirk in Jessica’s direction. He was convinced she would be escorted out of the room any second. But Jessica remained standing, calmly walking toward the front of the amphitheater.
General Vance adjusted his glasses and looked at the documents on the podium.
"As you all know, Mission Apex is the most critical tactical operation this squadron has faced in years," General Vance began. "The pilot leading this strike must possess unmatched precision and leadership. After a thorough review of all service records, the selection has been made."
Carter puffed out his chest, leaning forward in his seat. He had been boasting for weeks that he was the only logical choice for the lead role. He looked at Jessica, mouthing the words, "Watch and learn."
General Vance cleared his throat, his voice booming through the microphone.
"The lead pilot for Mission Apex, who will also be taking over command of the entire strike group starting today, is Major Jessica Miller."
A collective gasp rippled through the room. Carter’s face drained of color. He stared in absolute disbelief as Jessica walked past him, stopping just long enough to whisper to him.
"I'll take that coffee now, Lieutenant," she said coolly. "Black. No sugar."
”"Black. No sugar."
