Previously: When a young, cocky soldier mocked a 66-year-old veteran at a desert firing range, he had no idea who he was dealing with—until a single shot revealed a legendary secret.

A Legacy Restored

Seeing his career and freedom vanish, Leo made a desperate, foolish move. His hand datted toward his holster. But before he could even clear the leather, Arthur moved with blinding, instinctual speed. In one fluid motion, the veteran stepped forward, grabbed Leo’s wrist, and twisted it, forcing the young lieutenant to drop his weapon into the dust. Leo gasped in pain, pinned instantly by a man twice his age.

"Do not mistake my age for weakness, boy,"
Arthur whispered coldly into Leo's ear. General Vance barked an immediate order, and military police rushed forward, throwing handcuffs on the trembling young officer.
"Strip him of his rank and lock him in the brig,"
Vance commanded.
"We will launch a full audit immediately. Every single dollar stolen from the Ghost Unit's families will be returned with interest."

As Leo was dragged away in disgrace, the young soldiers on the range stood in silent awe of the old man in the canvas jacket. Arthur slowly released his grip and adjusted his sleeves, covering the black wolf tattoo once more. He looked at General Vance and gave a quiet nod of appreciation. His mission was finally complete; the families of his fallen brothers would finally get the peace and security they deserved.

Walking away from the dusty range, Arthur felt a heavy weight lift from his shoulders. True honor does not reside in pristine uniforms or high-tech gear; it lives in the promises we keep to those who can no longer fight for themselves. Arthur had proven that while soldiers may age, the spirit of a true protector never dies.
