The Betrayed Sniper Must Make an Impossible Shot to Save Her Worst Enemy
The Impossible Target
The heat rising from the desert floor created a shimmering mirage that distorted everything in the distance. Underneath the dusty camouflage net of the remote outpost, the air was thick with tension and the smell of dry earth. Emily knelt on the gravel, her red hair tied back tightly, her eyes locked onto the scope of her custom tactical rifle. Beside her, David, her former instructor, stared through his high-powered binoculars, his knuckles white with anxiety.
The target was a tiny generator valve on a compound wall exactly two thousand yards away. In military history, only a handful of snipers had ever recorded a successful hit from such a distance, let alone in a swirling desert crosswind.

"No one can make that shot," David muttered, his voice tight with desperation. "Two thousand yards is impossible, Emily. The wind is shifting every three seconds."
Emily didn't blink. Her finger rested lightly on the trigger, her mind running complex aerodynamic calculations. She knew the weight of the bullet, the humidity, and the exact rotation of the earth. She had been dismissed from the military because of a lie, but her skills had never left her.
"Watch the math," Emily replied coolly.
She squeezed the trigger. The rifle boomed, sending a shockwave through the outpost. Hot brass ejected from the chamber as she cycled the bolt in one fluid motion. Through the scope, she watched the bullet cut through the dust, striking the generator line perfectly. A massive explosion erupted, cutting the power to the hostile compound. But as the breach team moved in, the real nightmare began.
