A Shocking Miracle

The golden light of Le Petit Chateaux always felt more like a gilded cage to Arthur Pendelton than a luxury dining room. Sitting in his state-of-the-art wheelchair, dressed in a flawless black tuxedo, he stared bitterly at his glass of scotch. For ten years, his legs had been nothing but dead weight, a constant reminder of the horrific car accident that had stripped away his freedom. He had all the money in the world, yet he was completely powerless.

Suddenly, the quiet murmur of the high-end restaurant was interrupted by a commotion near the entrance. A young boy, disheveled and wearing a faded denim jacket, had slipped past the host. He didn't look like he belonged in a place where a single plate cost more than a month of rent. Arthur watched with irritation as the boy walked straight toward his table, his eyes locked onto Arthur's legs.

"What do you want, boy?" Arthur asked, his voice dripping with skepticism.

The boy didn't flinch. Instead, he took a step closer, pointing down at Arthur's knees. His expression was entirely earnest, devoid of the fear or pity Arthur usually received from strangers.

"Sir, can I heal your legs?" Leo asked quietly.

Arthur let out a harsh, incredulous chuckle. He gestured mockingly at his own useless limbs, his bitterness flaring. "You? If you make me walk, I'll give you a million dollars," he sneered, confident the boy would run away. But Leo merely stepped forward and placed his hands firmly on Arthur's knees.

"This is ridiculous," Arthur muttered, preparing to call security.

Leo looked up, his eyes filled with an ancient, calm certainty. "Trust me," he whispered. In an instant, a strange, electric warmth surged through Arthur's skin. His eyes widened in sudden shock, a gasp escaping his throat as a long-forgotten tingling sensation rushed up his calves. "What did you do to me?" he whispered in utter disbelief.
