My Boss Stole My Multi-Million Dollar Project—Then Blamed Me When It Failed
Previously: When Nicole's career-making project is stolen by her ambitious colleague Christopher, a corporate disaster forces them into a high-stakes confrontation that changes everything.
The Truth Unleashed
Nicole took a deep breath, refusing to let them see her tremble. Instead of defending herself verbally, she walked calmly to the boardroom console, plugged in her USB drive, and projected her screen onto the main wall.
"I would like to show you the real reason for the system failure, Mr. Vance," Nicole said, her voice steady and clear. "Christopher locked me out of the master files three weeks ago, immediately after he presented my project as his own."
She pulled up the security logs, showing Christopher's administrative ID revoking her access. She then displayed the original project files, dated three months before Christopher had even joined the team, containing identical slides to the ones he claimed to have authored.

"He didn't understand the integration protocols because he didn't write them," Nicole continued, looking directly at Mr. Carter on the screen. "But I do. And if you restore my administrative access right now, I can fix the data scramble in less than twenty minutes."
The room fell into a stunned silence. Christopher’s face turned from pale to an ashen grey. He tried to stammer an excuse, but Richard Vance raised a hand, silencing him instantly.
"Is this true, Christopher?" Vance asked, his voice dangerously quiet. "Did you plagiarize this campaign and then lock out the only person who knew how to run it?"
Christopher had no answer. Mr. Carter spoke up from the screen, a grim smile appearing on his face. "Nicole, if you can fix this system in twenty minutes, not only do we keep the contract with Apex, but I want you personally running our account from this day forward."
Nicole sat down at the console and her fingers flew across the keyboard. True to her word, fifteen minutes later, the system was fully functional, and the client's data was restored.
Christopher was escorted from the building by security that afternoon, his career in ruins. The next morning, Nicole was officially promoted to Director of Client Services, with a corner office of her own. She had learned that while some may try to steal your light, they can never replicate your spark.
