Previously: When Leo looks up on a crowded New York subway, he sees a ghost from his past. His older brother, who supposedly died five years ago, is staring right back at him.

The Revelation on the Platform

Before Leo could process the impossible sight, the subway train began to slow down, the automated voice announcing the next station. Marcus stood up abruptly, keeping his head down as he moved toward the exit doors. Leo’s eyes darted to the end of the car, where two men in heavy dark coats had also stood up, their eyes fixed on Marcus with predatory intensity. They weren't commuters; they were hunters.

As the doors slid open, Marcus stepped onto the crowded platform. Overriding his fear, Leo scrambled off the bench and pushed through the crowd.

"Marcus!"
he whispered hoarsely, grabbing his brother's sleeve. Marcus spun around, his face pale with panic. He aggressively pulled Leo behind a massive concrete support pillar, out of the line of sight of the two men in coats.

"Leo, you shouldn't be here! You need to walk away right now!"
Marcus hissed, his voice trembling. Leo grabbed his brother's shoulders, tears welling in his eyes.
"You're alive! How is this possible? Mom and I buried you!"

Marcus shook his head frantically. "It was a setup, Leo. The fire, the dental records—our Uncle Charles arranged it all. He used my identity to launder millions in offshore accounts, and when I found out, he faked my death to keep me quiet. Now, I'm trying to go to the FBI, and he sent those men to silence me permanently." Before Leo could speak, Marcus slipped a cold, metal flash drive into Leo’s hoodie pocket.

"This has all the proof. If they get to me, you have to expose him. Run, Leo!"
Marcus pushed him hard into the crowd and ran toward the exit, drawing the pursuers away.
