Previously: When Chloe came home early to surprise her husband, she found her best friend Sarah in their bed. But the confrontation revealed a dark, pre-planned conspiracy that went far beyond infidelity.

A Devastating Revelation

Chloe stared at her, disbelieving.

"Where is Mark?" she demanded, trying to steady her voice. "Where is my husband?"

Sarah stepped out of the bed, smoothing down her lavender slip. She walked over to her purse on the nightstand, completely unbothered by Chloe’s rage.

"Mark is at the bank," Sarah replied with a mocking smile. "He’s transferring the last of your joint savings. And by the way, this isn’t your house anymore."

She pulled a folded manila envelope from her bag and tossed it onto the bare mattress. Chloe’s heart hammered against her ribs. With trembling fingers, she opened the envelope. Inside was a copy of a quitclaim deed for their home. At the bottom, next to Mark’s signature, was her own signature, neat and clear.

"This is a lie," Chloe whispered, her voice shaking. "I never signed this."
"Oh, but you did," Sarah sneered, leaning in close. "Remember last month when you were sick with the flu, and Mark gave you those 'insurance documents' to sign? You didn't even look at them. Mark and I have been planning this for a year. The house is mine now, the money is gone, and we are flying to Miami tonight. You have nothing."

The depth of the betrayal was dizzying. The husband she loved and the friend she had taken in had conspired to steal her grandmother's inheritance, which had funded eighty percent of this home.

But Sarah had made one crucial mistake. She didn't know about the hidden nanny cam Chloe had installed in the master bedroom bookcase two months prior to catch a suspicious housekeeper.

Chloe pulled out her phone, her hands suddenly steady. She opened the security app and navigated to the cloud storage. As Sarah watched her, assuming she was calling the police, Chloe found the recording from October 14th. The screen showed Mark and Sarah standing by the bed, laughing as Mark traced Chloe's signature onto the deed.

Chloe locked her phone, a cold, dangerous smile spreading across her lips.

"You really should have checked the bookcase, Sarah," Chloe said quietly.
