I Caught My Best Friend In My Bed, But The Truth Was Far Worse
Previously: When Chloe walked into her bedroom and found her best friend Sarah under the sheets, she thought she knew the depth of the betrayal. She was entirely wrong.
The Hidden Trap
Sarah stood up from the bed, adjusting the silk slip with a sickening lack of shame.
"You always thought you were the smart one, Chloe," Sarah whispered, her voice devoid of any warmth. "But you've been blind for years. If you think this is just about Mark sleeping in your bed, you're dumber than I thought. Go look in your closet."
Chloe’s heart hammered against her ribs. She slowly turned and walked toward the walk-in closet, her legs feeling like lead. She pulled the double doors open, expecting to find Mark hiding behind her dresses.

Instead, she found chaos.
Her designer clothes had been shoved to one side, replaced by Sarah’s wardrobe. But that wasn't the worst of it. On the floor of the closet sat Chloe's personal fireproof safe.
It was wide open. And it was completely empty.
Inside that safe had been her grandmother’s priceless diamond collection, the deed to the house—which Chloe had inherited from her father—and the original incorporation documents for her multi-million dollar marketing firm.
On the top shelf of the closet sat a neat blue folder. Chloe picked it up with shaking hands. Inside was a signed power of attorney document, along with a transfer of property deed.
At the bottom of the page was her own signature. But Chloe had never signed this. It was a flawless forgery.
"What is this?" Chloe gasped, turning back to Sarah, who was now leaning against the doorframe, watching her with a smug expression. "What did you do?"
"Mark and I have been planning this for a year," Sarah said calmly. "By tomorrow morning, the house, your company, and your bank accounts will legally belong to us. Mark is at the bank right now, finalizing the transfers. You have nothing left, Chloe. So if I were you, I’d pack my bags and leave quietly."
