Previously: When Sergeant Miller tried to humiliate Navy Lieutenant Sarah in front of the entire barracks, he thought he had the upper hand—until a hidden truth came to light.

The tension in the barracks didn't dissipate after Miller stormed out. Within hours, Sarah found herself at the center of a rapidly escalating storm. Miller hadn't just gone to medical to report a fake injury; he had rallied two of his loyal corporals to sign official statements accusing Sarah of ongoing abuse of power and physical assault.

Worse still, Miller had spun a dark web of lies. He claimed the red bra was proof of an illicit affair Sarah was having with a married Captain on the base. In the military, such an allegation was career-ending.

A Web of Lies

By nine o'clock the following morning, Sarah was standing at attention in the office of Commander Vance, the base commander. Miller stood to the side, his face a mask of wounded professionalism. On the desk lay three signed statements and a formal complaint.

"Lieutenant," Commander Vance said, his voice heavy with disappointment. "These are incredibly serious allegations. Assaulting an NCO and conduct unbecoming of an officer. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
"Sir, the allegations are entirely fabricated," Sarah said, her voice unwavering. "Sergeant Miller targeted me, invaded my personal space, and attempted to humiliate me. I used standard defensive blocks to neutralize what I perceived as physical intimidation."

Miller spoke up, his tone dripping with false humility.

"With respect, Commander, she’s lying to save her skin. Ask anyone in that room. She snapped. And we all know about her late-night visits to the administration building."

Commander Vance sighed, rubbing his temples. He explained that because of the multiple eyewitness accounts backing Miller, he had no choice but to recommend Sarah for a formal inquiry, which would suspend her clearance and halt her upcoming promotion.

Sarah felt a cold dread settle in her stomach. She realized that the security camera footage she had relied on had mysteriously disappeared from the server. Someone high up was helping Miller erase the evidence. She was being set up, and the trap was closing fast.
