The boutique fell into a stunned silence. Liam stood frozen, his eyes darting between the vintage photograph and the grand portrait of Arthur Sterling. The resemblance was undeniable. However, Sarah’s shocked expression quickly hardened into a mask of pure disbelief and arrogance. She let out a sharp, mocking laugh that echoed coldly off the marble walls.

"Do you honestly expect us to believe this ridiculous fairy tale?" Sarah barked, stepping closer to Clara. "Arthur Sterling’s wife passed away years ago, or she certainly wouldn't be rolling around in a cheap wheelchair wearing rags! This is a pathetic scam to get free repairs, or worse, to rob us."

Sarah lunged forward, attempting to snatch the precious vintage photograph from Clara’s hands. But Liam was faster. He stepped between them, firmly catching Sarah's wrist in mid-air. "That's enough, Sarah!" Liam protested, his voice echoing with authority. "Look at the photo. Look at the watch. It’s him. Have some respect."

Furious at being defied by a subordinate, Sarah wrenched her arm away. "You are officially fired, Liam! Pack your things and get out of my store!" she screamed. She immediately picked up the desk phone and dialed the building's private security. "We have a trespasser and a rogue employee creating a disturbance. Remove them immediately!"

As the heavy footsteps of the security guards drew near, Clara remained completely unflustered. With slow, deliberate movements, she reached back into the faded envelope. This time, she pulled out a folded document bearing a heavy, official gold notary seal. Sarah sneered, declaring that no fake piece of paper would save them from being thrown out into the pouring rain. The security guards surrounded Liam and Clara, waiting for Sarah's final order to drag them out of the building. Liam's heart pounded, realizing his career was ruined, but he refused to abandon the gentle woman who had trusted him.
