Previously: When a wealthy store manager tried to humiliate an elderly woman in a wheelchair, a kind clerk stepped in—only to discover the shocking truth behind a dusty vintage watch.

The Corporate Conspiracy

The showroom fell into an absolute, suffocating silence. Sarah's face turned ashen, her mouth hanging open in sheer disbelief.

"That... that is impossible,"
she stammered, her voice cracking.
"Arthur Vance's widow passed away in a private care facility years ago. The board confirmed it!"
Clara shook her head slowly, a cold fire burning in her eyes.
"The board lied to protect their stolen empire,"
she stated firmly.

Before Sarah could reply, the showroom doors burst open. Two men in expensive charcoal suits rushed in. It was Richard and Thomas, senior board members of Vance Timepieces. They had been alerted by the security feed and looked absolutely panicked.

"Clara! What is the meaning of this? You are not supposed to be here,"
Richard hissed, trying to block her from the view of other wealthy customers who had begun to whisper.

Sarah immediately tried to deflect the blame.

"Sir, this clerk, Liam, allowed this trespasser inside and insulted our brand!"
she cried. But Thomas ignored Sarah entirely, focusing his furious gaze on Clara.
"You signed the agreement, Clara. You have no rights to this company anymore. If you don't leave immediately, we will have you arrested for trespassing and corporate slander,"
he threatened, his voice low and menacing.

Clara remained entirely calm. She looked at Liam, then back to the board members.

"You forged my signature on those mental incompetency papers after Arthur died,"
she revealed, her voice carrying across the silent room.
"You locked me out of my husband's legacy, but you forgot one crucial detail."
Thomas stepped closer, his fists clenched.
"Hand over that watch and the photograph, Clara. Now. Or we will ensure you spend your remaining days in a state institution."
Liam stepped protectively in front of Clara's wheelchair, refusing to let them touch her.
