Previously: When Martha's own daughter and son-in-law cornered her on a luxury yacht to force her to sign over her inheritance, they thought no one was watching—but they were dead wrong.

A Calculated Betrayal

As Martha’s fingers began to slip from the slick metal railing, she prepared herself for the icy plunge into the deep water. But just as her strength failed, the heavy cabin door of the yacht flew open. Out stepped David, a rugged man in his late forties, holding a smartphone high in the air. David was Richard’s former head of security and Martha’s most trusted confidant. He had been hidden in the crew quarters since they departed, acting on a secret protocol established by Martha's late husband.

"Step away from her, Sarah," David commanded, his voice cutting through the ocean breeze like steel. "This phone is broadcasting a live encrypted stream directly to the coast guard and our legal team. Every word, every movement, and every threat has been recorded."

Sarah gasped, her grip loosening instantly as she stumbled backward. Arthur’s cold composure shattered. His eyes darted from David to the empty horizon, realizing that their perfect crime had turned into a televised trap. But instead of surrendering, desperation drove Arthur to madness. With a feral roar, he lunged at David, tackling him to the wooden deck. The two men wrestled violently, sliding across the slick teak surface as the yacht rocked on the waves.

The smartphone flew from David's hand, sliding toward the edge of the deck. Sarah, seeing her chance to destroy the evidence, scrambled after it. Martha, fueled by a sudden surge of maternal betrayal and survival instinct, threw herself forward, blocking her daughter. Mother and daughter locked eyes, the illusion of family completely shattered. "It's over, Sarah," Martha whispered, her voice no longer trembling, but filled with a cold, hard resolve. Behind them, Arthur managed to pin David, raising a heavy metal winch handle to strike a fatal blow. Martha knew she had to act, or they would all perish on this beautiful, cursed water.
