The winter of Lily's tenth year was the coldest on record, but for her, the chill was more than just weather. What will we do?" she cried. Arthur held her hands tightly, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll find work. Kindness was never a mistake," he said.

Decades passed, and Lily's life took a dramatic turn. Adopted by a wealthy businessman after her mother’s passing, she worked tirelessly to build a successful career. Now, in her late twenties, Lily stood in her luxurious high-rise office, staring at those same brown leather shoes, beautifully preserved in a glass case.
