My Estranged Father Tried to Drive Me Away—Then His Fiercest Dog Did the Unthinkable
Previously: When Leo returned to his father's ranch after years of silence, he faced a dangerous, chained beast—but the real storm was the dark family secret his father was hiding.
Leo stepped forward, his hand still resting gently on Maya’s neck. "Not so fast, Vance," Leo said, his voice ringing with a newfound authority. "I know about my mother’s trust. I know she left this land with a strict covenant."
A Legacy Reclaimed
Vance’s smug smile faltered for a fraction of a second, but he quickly recovered. "That trust is old news, kid. It only applies if the ranch is actively operating under the management of a direct Miller heir. Your father is broke, and you walked away years ago."

Leo pulled a folded document from his leather jacket—a certified copy of his registration as the ranch's co-manager, signed and dated weeks ago when he first heard of his father's struggles. "I never walked away from my heritage," Leo declared. "I am back, and as of today, I am legally the active co-manager of this ranch. Under my mother’s covenant, this land cannot be foreclosed upon or sold to external developers."
Vance snapped the paper, his face turning an angry shade of crimson as he realized his multi-million dollar land grab had just been completely dismantled by the very boy he thought was too weak to fight. Realizing he had no legal ground left to stand on, Vance muttered a curse, slammed his car door, and drove away in a cloud of angry dust.
Mark stood in silence, tears welling in his weathered eyes. He looked at his son, no longer seeing a boy who was too soft, but a strong, compassionate man who had saved their family legacy. He stepped forward and pulled Leo into a fierce, long-overdue hug.
"I'm so sorry, son," Mark whispered, his voice trembling. "I was trying to protect you, but you were the one who ended up saving us."
Beside them, Maya let out a happy bark, her tail wagging for the very first time. True strength is not measured by the power to dominate, but by the courage to heal and forgive.
