My Estranged Father Tried to Ruin My Wedding, But My Rank Stopped Him Cold
Previously: When Admiral Patricia walked down the aisle, she expected joy, not her estranged father trying to pull rank. But a long-buried family secret was about to change everything.
Confronting the Ghost of the Past
The ceremony proceeded with solemn beauty, but the tension in the cathedral was palpable. Once the vows were exchanged and the guests moved toward the reception hall, Patricia knew she couldn't avoid the inevitable storm. She excused herself and walked toward the quiet vestry room at the back of the cathedral. As expected, George followed her, closing the heavy wooden door behind him to shut out the distant sounds of celebration.
He stood before her, his posture stiff, his grey hair catching the dim light of the room. The arrogance that had defined him for decades was fighting against the embarrassment of being publicly outranked by his own daughter.
"You think you've won, don't you?"George sneered, his voice trembling slightly.
"You wear those stars and think you're better than me. But I am still your father, Patricia. I built the foundation of your career."

Patricia looked at him, her expression calm, her heart steady. The little girl who used to cry itself to sleep, wondering why her father didn't love her, was gone. In her place stood a leader who had faced far greater threats than a bitter retired officer.
"You didn't build anything for me, George,"she said quietly.
"You abandoned Mom when she was sick, leaving us with nothing. But that wasn't your greatest crime. I know what you did to her naval career before you left."
George's eyes widened, a flicker of genuine fear crossing his weathered face.
"I don't know what you're talking about,"he stammered, stepping back. Patricia reached into her uniform jacket and pulled out a sealed manila envelope.
"My mother was a brilliant naval researcher, and you stole her classified engine design to secure your promotion to commander. You forged her signature on the waiver forms. I spent five years in the naval archives finding the original drafts. Your entire career was built on a lie."
”Your entire career was built on a lie."
